“There’s only 2 things to regret in life. The things you wanted to do, but never took the time to. And those things that happened to you, good or bad, in which you never learned anything from.”
- Mista Mensa
“No stranger to the world of Ragga Jungle is GME’s #1 man on the mic, the incomparable Mista Mensa. Having thrown a slew of the dopest underground events around the GTA over the past few years, Mensa knows what makes up a good party: good vibes and good music! His hustling work ethic and raspy growl on the mic earned him a spot as host of DCS905 Radio on 89.5 FM CIUT in Toronto, where he hosted a variety of DNB artists every Saturday night from 10pm-12am EST (-5GMT).
Since he first took the stage in 1999, Mista Mensa has performed alongside the world’s top DJs and producers in the Ragga Jungle and Drum & Bass scene such as; T Power, DJ K, Krinjah, Sixteenarmedjack, Masheen, Gremlinz, Marcus Visionary, Debaser, Tester, R Cola, Capital J, Sniper, Mystical Influence, NC-17, Medicine Muffin, Capital J, DJ Spinz and countless other talents from Toronto and across the globe.” – General Misconduct Ent.
In 2005, I started a production company with “Junction Junglists” with TecStylez. Starting out with small weekly events in Toronto’s west end. It quickly expanded into events at Apothecary, a venue in the heart of the entertainment district, with rooftop patios and 2 floors of party people we rocked the summer nights till morning. After throwing countless weekly, monthly and special events such as the Toronto Freedom Festival after parties for 5 years. I was bestowed the honor of being asked to start Toronto’s chapter of Konkrete Jungle International, which is the world’s longest running weekly event, with 48 chapters worldwide and going strong since 1998. I bid a farewell to throwing jungle events in August 2009, and went out with a with a bang . I put on the only Drum & Bass event ever hosted at Wild Water Kingdom in Brampton, Ontario. There, Camo & Krooked had their debut western hemisphere performance alongside NC-17, Marcus Visionary, DJ Law, 5th Letter Fam (Empire) and other local support on 80,000W of Dub Rock Soundsystem thunder. Go big or go home, right?
